Her tiny stem would bend,
And she would shake with sudden fear
With every blowing wind.
Viola wished that she could hide
When raindrops fell on her.
They were so awful damp and cold,
She was too stiff to stir.
Viola was afraid the sun
Would take away her breath,
Would make her petals all turn brown,
And smother her to death.
Viola shook with nervous chills
When winter came with snow.
Her feet were firmly planted, and
She’d nowhere else to go.
Viola thought the animals,
Who scampered all around,
Would trample her and stomp on her
And grind her in the ground.
Viola’s mother said to her,
“You’re such a scaredy plant.
You’re frightened of such teeny things
As Itsy-Bitsy Ant.
“There is no reason you should live
In constant dread and fear,
For God above created you,
And He is always near.
“God made you to be small, but sweet;
He made you purple, too.
To bring cheer to a cheerless world
Is what you’re meant to do.”

Now, little children have a place
God made just YOU to fill.
So you can live out fearlessly
Whatever's in His will.

I loved this line:
Viola’s mother said to her,
“You’re such a scaredy plant.
Great job!
Wonderful.
