“Hey Sir Chipmunk”, Lady Butterfly squeaked,
“Do you know where I’m supposed to be?
Over on that flower that looks so sweet,
Or on that limb, up in that tree?”
“Over on the flower”, Sir Chipmunk Said.
“What’s wrong with your smeller?
What’s wrong with your head?”
“My head’s all stuffy”, Lady Butterfly Said,
“And my smeller was puffy when I got out of bed!”
Miss Queen Bee was buzzin’ next to a rock,
And couldn’t hear nothin’ but knock, knock, knock
From Sir Chipmunk chewin’ on sweet brown nuts,
Her ears were hurtin’ from strong wind gusts.
“I can’t hear nothing”, Miss Queen Bee Said,
“Please stop that knockin’, I’m goin’ to bed!”
Sir chipmunk stopped and looked all around.
He heard birds chirpin’, what a blissful sound,
And saw Lady Butterfly land on a leaf
Of a beautiful flower that smelled so sweet.
“My smeller’s back”, Lady Butterfly sang.
“And my head is as clear as a fresh new rain!”
Sir Chipmunk Said, “I’m glad I can see,
That you now know a flower from a tree!
It sure does help to know where you should be.
And I’m ever happy that you are so free!”
“Thank you, Sir Chipmunk”, Lady Butterfly Said.
“I’ll never forget when I was out of my head.
My smeller didn’t work, but you made me see,
Exactly just where I needed to be.”
“You’re very welcome”, Sir Chipmunk cheered.
“You were really worried, and you did fear
That you’d never get straight, where you should be,
Over on that flower or up in that tree.”
“Did I hear someone callin’?”, Whispered Queen Bee,
As she sleepily buzzed out to where they could both see.
“You can hear again!”, Sir Chipmunk Yelled.
Queen Bee Said, “Yes, as clear as a bell!
And the birds are beginning to chirp again,
I think it is wonderful when they begin,
To chirp, and sing, and fly all around
To the beauty of nature on the ground.”
Lady Butterfly fluttered and started to say,
“Sir Chipmunk, you really did save the day
When you helped a Butterfly and a Bee
To see what they really needed to see.
Hooray for Sir Chipmunk, you are our hero.
Without you today would have been zero.”
But Sir Chipmunk stopped her from making a fuss.
He Said, “We all have each other, and that’s a must!
Nature’s God’s gift and it belongs to everyone,
And helping each other is part of the fun.
If no one bothered, what would be the use?
We’d all be troubled, and terribly confused!
We owe it to each other, to all get along
In God’s awesome world where we all belong!”
They looked at each other, and then they agreed,
And they are the happiest creatures of any three!
