I was transfixed as I watched in awe at this beautiful scene. One that I will always cherish. It spoke of gentleness and meekness. Here is a graphic example of Galatians 5:22.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such, there is no law.”
Down through the ages, different persons have demonstrated this quality of meekness. Moses for example, displayed this quality towards his sister and brother who spoke against his marriage. God struck her with leprosy. When his brother asked Moses to pray for his sister, he did it without question. As stated in Numbers 12:13:
“So, Moses cried out to the Lord, saying, “Please heal her, O God, I pray!”
It is of interest that Moses when faced with problems went to the lord in prayer and he remained reliant on God for his leading.
Jesus in his ministry epitomized this quality, this is seen when the disciples tried to turn the children from Him. He was displeased and called them and blessed them. Jesus' calmness, his thoughtfulness, and his meekness shone here. In another instant, Jesus pointed out that unless we become like children, we cannot enter the kingdom of God. (A child is teachable, and is willing to submit among other qualities)
This is seen in Matthew 18:2” Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever receives one little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
Are you converted and have accepted your position as one of his children? It is when this takes place that Galatians 5:22 can become a part of your lifestyle.
