History has a tendency to repeat itself when lessons aren’t learned. Isaiah prophesied for around 64 years. The United States is a mirror of Judah in Isaiah 1:2-7. The Lord has nourished and brought up children and they have rebelled. They refuse to submit to the Lord‘s authority and his rule. They were ungrateful for what the Lord did for them. Sin and idolatry run rampant in Isaiah‘s time. The entire nation was headed for destruction.

The United States was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. God was a big part of our lives for many years.

God has blessed America but we have rebelled against him. WE have taken him out of our schools. Our worship centers were closed during the pandemic but many businesses were open. Where God was once a part of our life he has been replaced by greed, pride, selfishness, and homosexuality. Crime rules the street. People leave out just enough of the truth to make it believable. These sins run through our country like water through a strainer. Lies are believed because it makes people feel good. The people of our country feel they are entitled to have what they want. We have become an ungrateful nation. We have turned into a me country. There is only one side of a conversation my side. People become offended when we speak the truth.

Even the ox and donkey recognize the person who feeds and takes care of them. Even the animals know their master. They are loyal to him. When my pets hear me open their food they come running and are my feet. They are hungry but they also know I will take care of them by feeding, walking, brushing and bathing them.

We have allowed the media and leaders to fill our heads with what they want us to believe. Our elected officials slander one another to get votes. News media give their opinions instead of reporting the news and let the people decide for themselves about a story. Our teachers tell our students what to think instead of how to think.

Verse seven describes our country. The people are desolate in their hearts for God and his Word. We’ve seen our cities and property set fire. Then there is no accountability. Lives have been lost. People flooding into our country illegally with no regard for our laws to become citizens. The hearts of men are filled with the wrong intentions.

We still are a great country but not as great as we were once were. To solve our problems we must turn to the only cure. That cure is Jesus Christ. People should see that we are on fire for him. Our prayers should be that the Holy Spirit opens the hearts of our leaders and they turn to God. Make decisions based on what he tells them and not decisions that will make them popular and get reelected. We should examine our own heart and repent from any sin that the Lord uncovers for us.

Jesus told us what he wanted us to do. It is in Matthew 28:18-20 The Great Commission. And Jesus came and spoke to them (Disciples) saying, “All Authority has been given to Me on heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen NKJV

This article has a challenging message. However, it most of the facts are simply reiterated, of which the majority of people are already aware. So... how to grab the readers' attention?

Get the reader into the story. Emotion motivates, moves and inspires. Use one or two real examples of events and how God can redeem them through repentance.

Part of a successful challenge is to inspire the reader into action. Give a strong hook and again in the conclusion. The body of the work is the argument. Be blessed and keep writing
