Owing to romantic blunder,
Of Adam and Eve,
In the garden of Eden,
Committed under God’s Argus Eye,
Man lost his original divine wand of peace.
For myriad years, thereafter,
Man wandered in the wildness,
Committing divers of crimes:
Adultery, idolatry, murder, debauchery-
Envy, malice, robbery, anger, hatred…
Until God became, really, really, grieved.
He sent His one and only begotten Son,
Onto a tragedy-ous mission that never was!
Not to murder His only One, as world may have deemed-
But instead, eternal gift it became. Jn. 3:16.
On one gracious day,
During His top management meeting,
A grand decision was unanimously taken,
To send, to earth, His only begotten Son,
Whom He ‘valued’ slightly less than man,
For whom he sent that Son to redeem,
From the bondage of sin and death.
At Golgotha,
Jesus, the Omni-faithful,
Was cruelly hand and feet nailed!.
His precious blood He bled,
So that me and you,
And all humankind,
Can enjoy eternal peace.
Was there anything so gracious,
Yet so lamentable,
Like God murdering His own Son,
For redemption of sinful descendants,
Who disobeyed his simple instructions,
Not to eat only one forbidden fruit,
Out of so many in the garden of Eden?
Couldn’t God, the Omniscient,
Find other feasible options,
Of ably punishing sinnerful man,
His rebellious replica,
Instead of wasting heavenly scarce resources,
In the Providence of Jesus Christ?
Was it not like killing a fly with a hammer?
Or a rat with an SMG gun or atomic bomb,
Or redeeming a tilapia with a whale,
Or the little hare with an elephant?
As I ponder upon the nexus
Between Eden and Calvary,
The plagues of Egypt,
The endless animal blood sacrifices,
Through the entanglements of Sinai desert-
With Lucifer’s tenacious agenda,
I will to depend, solely, upon my only rock-
Jesus, Son of God – my Lord and Saviour.
Grace and mercy abounds ’coz of You. Amen.
