My family and I are now in the midst of embarking on a fresh international adventure. A new year brings an unspoiled job for us in an unexplored area. Once again it is time to say goodbye and pack up our suitcases, making sure we are not over our suitcase limits. How can our family of four put our entire lives into six 50 pound suitcases? Somehow we manage. We never know what to expect from our adventures but we do know who we can trust to lead us.
Although it is a lot of work and sometimes very tiring, I wouldn’t change my life for anything in the world. Among all the changes my one constant has been my relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and His assurance of faithfulness even when I am not. Sure, there have been many bumps along the road but I know that HE is with me through it all and it is in those moments when I know that I can’t do it all myself that I ask for help with the assurance that my God is listening and will respond.
Second Corinthians 12:9a says “And HE (Jesus) said to me (Paul), ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’â€
As we move to somewhere we have never lived before I will be reminding myself often that I am only as strong as much as I rely on HIM. In this fresh start, Lord, I need you. Oh, how I need you. Please be with your daughter and her family. Amen.
