Have you ever said the words: “I can't …”?
I can’t finish this work.
I am too young, so I can't ...
Or I'm too old, so I can’t fill any purpose anymore.

Can’t is a four-letter word. The tiny “'t” put behind the word “can” is a sneaky little beast that can cause a lot of trouble and stop us from fulfilling God’s plan in our lives.

The word, “can’t” caused the Israelites to wander in the Wilderness for forty years.

Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said,
“We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
But the men who had gone up with him said,
“We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”
Numbers 13:30-32 (NIV)

After the death of Moses God told Joshua to focus on Him and His Word:
1. Be strong and very courageous.
2. Be careful to obey
3. Do not turn from it to the right or the left
4. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips;
5. Meditate on it day and night,
6. Be careful to do everything written in it.
7. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:6-9

The disciples learned, and we today need to learn the same lesson as Joshua. The only way to defeat that same sneaky little beast: “I can’t” is to see the reason why we can’t.

Jesus, the Word, became flesh and lived among us, showing how God’s plan was accomplished in His life. Through living in Him – the Word, we will be able to defeat the little beast that says “I can’t.”

The lesson “I am the Vine; you are the branches” gives a resounding blow to the sneaky little word “I can't.”

1. Take care to live in me,
2. Let me live in you.
3. A branch can’t produce fruit when severed from the vine.
4. Nor can you be fruitful apart from me.
5. Whoever lives in me and I in him
6. Shall produce a large crop of fruit.
7. For apart from me you can’t do a thing.
John 15:1-8 (TLB)

Apostle Paul proved the truth of the Living the Word:

I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything.
I have learned the secret of contentment in every situation … for I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power. Philippians 4:12-13 (TLB)

Each one of us can choose stand on God’s Word:
He has given us both his promise and his oath, two things we can completely count on, for it is impossible for God to tell a lie. Now all those who flee to him to save them can take new courage when they hear such assurances from God; now they can know without a doubt that he will give them the salvation he has promised them.
