The un-vacation takes David away at about 2:45 on a Saturday morning, and returns him about 3 that afternoon. Not sure where he is David continues to pray, but this place does not feel good.
Here David is unsure, and the sand beneath his emotions sink and shift, and burn his feelings. There is cigarette smoke in his nostrils, and a drink in his hand. The woman sitting next to him is very attractive, but is spewing some very foul language. David feels a filthy lustful passion pushing him toward her.
He can’t ask “Where am I?” He knows. This is where today’s intercession has taken him.
“Arthur?” She says to David, putting her hand on his knee. “Kiss me.”
The woman throws her arms around David’s neck and kisses him hard, but he chokes on her passion. Loneliness, coming up violently from his heart, rejects her affection. He shoves the woman back, almost falls off the bar stool, and then runs through the saloon, out the door, and into the alley between the bar and diner next door. Breathing heavily, he wants to vomit, but he can’t. His sickness cannot be expelled, it is who he is.
His loneliness turns into desperation, and buckles David’s knees. He puts his hand out and leans on the dirty dumpster, but it does no good. David’s emotions overwhelm him, and he crumbles into a fetal ball on the stinking asphalt.
His cry is “Oh, God!” Then he weeps for the soul he has ignored and tried to forget.
Suddenly David is in a Sunday school classroom staring at a flannel board cut out of Jesus and John the Baptist. How wonderful the innocence and awe of discovery feels. His hand is raised and he is walking toward the teacher.
“Arthur. Would you like to repeat this prayer with me?”
David wakes from his intercession. He is back in the closet, clothes hang around him, and the flat white wall of the closet stares back at him. His heart is still beating rapidly, and there is a cramp in his stomach. His Bible is open to John 3:16.
“For God so loved Arthur that He gave is only begotten Son, so that Arthur would not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Prayer done, David leaves his closet and heads into the kitchen for a cup of coffee.
“Where have you been?” his wife asks.
“Praying for Arthur. I need to call him.”
Sometimes prayer can be quite an un-vacation.

I loved the back and forth with the "two MC's" --I think it probably was one and the same. He was struggling with the "sinful" self which was attributed to the different name.
This was intensely satisfying while providing a meaningful and profound message.
Great job!
God BLess~
I really thought this entry to be riveting and a great example of spiritural warfare.
Well done,
God bless~
