Topic: IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL (don't write about the song) (04/02/15)
Today is a very gray and dull day, but it’s okay. All is well. The earth is thirsty and needs a long cool drink in order to develop the spring flowers as well as the lush green lawns and vivid green leaves that come from the buds on the trees. Soon it will be garden planting time depending upon where I live and the ground needs moisture.

The sound of the rain on the roof is hypnotic and relaxes my body and emotions. All is well. The simple drip, drip, drip of rain running off the roof is rhythmic and matches the beat of my heart. The beat is God given, and the beat keeps me alive and flourishing. The beat of my own drum is nestled deeply within my soul.

Behind the rain clouds are rays of sunshine that hold the promise of warmth as it wraps around my body and soul. All is well. As the clouds pass the promise of sunshine lingers, as rainbows form through the last of the rain. The rainbow is God’s covenant with all of mankind that the entire world will never be flooded again.

The rainbow fades but never goes very far away. All is well. The harder the rainfall and the brighter the sun, the more vivid the colors become to my eyes. I was given eyes to see every beautiful thing God created for me. My eyes take in the beauty God sees in me and they see into my soul…the wonderful part of me that nourishes and makes me a part of God’s creation in human form.

As a human, I have a soul. All is well. No other being in the universe has a soul. Buried deep within my soul is a joy like no other. God gave me free will to decide whether to maintain that joy or let Satan deprive me of it. The joy is always there and it is up to me to let it out and let it shine. Through the joy, I am a witness for my loving God.

Today, the witness seemed to dull. All is well. I have the forgiveness of Jesus on the days when the joy doesn’t shine as brightly as it should. He loves me and is quick to forgive when I ask Him to do so. He teaches me to forgive my neighbor as He forgives me. Once forgiven, the volume on the joy button returns to my soul. Jesus is the biggest part of my soul. I want to do what pleases Him.

The trials were fierce as I walked through the doors of work. All is well. Because Jesus is my Savior and friend He lifts my spirits and carries me through the toughest situations that face me. When I ask, He tells me how to handle every situation and circumstance. He also helps me to handle the situation and circumstance with joy and grace. He fills me with peace within my soul. All I want to do is PRAISE Him from the bottom of my soul.

Jesus will never leave nor forsake me. All is well. My soul turns to my Lord and Savior during both good and bad. Jesus has my back and will never leave me unless I turn my back on Him. He is faithful to hold me in the palm of His hand and lead me down the path of righteousness when the free will of my soul allows Him to do so.

Jesus is the Savior of my soul. All is well. Only Jesus has the key to the gate of Heaven. He is the only entrance into the throne of God and because He has placed His love into my soul, through forgiveness, mercy and grace, I know for sure that all is indeed well with my soul. Praise Him for being the Savior of my soul!

Your devotional reminds me of what Paul had to say about how he was content no matter what state (whether good or bad) he was in. Thanks for the reminder that it really is well with my soul, no matter the circumstances.
