Topic: SLOTH (indolence; laziness) (01/29/15)
I wasn't going to do the writting challenge this week. Had far too many things to do. Had the ironing to do, even seriously thought could do a few shirts just for appearance sake. Have my accounts to sort for my accountant but can't find my ledgers.

All calculated reasons but to tell you the truth I just can't be bothered to spend the next five days writting and crafting a litary masterpiece. Its not that I am being lazy for I don't do lazy. I just can't be arsed to to have to find the thausarus to come up with any more words to describe the same piffel.

I must sound harsh but I seriously am not, I have just come to a place in my life where I would rather lounge on the sofa and watch useless programing for hours than to get up and do something productive. I get home from work where I think I work hard and want my dinner presented to me while I plant myself for the night for the next sequence of channel hopping.

It is not that I dont do exercise for I am doing alot at the moment, My character on PS3 is now an elite, taken me months of hard work and determination.

So you see I am not a couch potatoe, I have an active life, Just wish those chips would hurry up.

As for my writting I have written some articles that people -l-i-k-e- appreciate. Eek I should delete like but too much hard work will just score it out than having to re-write the -qh- whole article. I really should invest in a laptop rather than this twenty year old manual typewritter. I still have a few more ribbons from when my mum gave it to me.

Todays topic is bravery. Since I know nothing or even care for bravery I will check my word count and as long as over three hundreds words will call it a day.

To the judges of this article I am sorry but I really just can't be bothered. Maybe by entering this article as it is, has a halmark of true bravery. Just found a new word in my thasaurous 'SLOTH'. I always thought it was a kind of animal.

Authors note........ since i can't be bothered today you can check any spelling or grammer for me. Please send all corrections to me and if i can be bothered might fit it in between some TV

You had me laughing out loud with this piece, some very clever humour here: like waiting for the chips, doing a lot of exercise at the moment, you send me the spelling mistakes and maybe I'll make the alterations... priceless. Your sense of humour is evident, making this a fun read.

I really enjoyed your article. As a former English teacher, I cringed at the errors, then laughed at the reason for them. Clever! One little suggestion about writing for the challenge: Don't mention that it is a FW challenge in an article. Write it as though it could be for any publication. Keep up the good work!

Hehe this is cute!

Just a general rule to remember is not to mention the challenge itself (or judging) in the article. You can get around this by making it a writing "assignment" or something like that. But since these articles are really meant for a broader audience than just the challenge readers and writers, it's best not to mention the challenge or judges, like every knows what it is. Hope that makes sense.

I do, however, agree writing this article is/was brave. ;) Nice job.

Oh my Alan, this is just brilliant. At first I started with a smile, but then at the end I was laughing huge belly laughs. I totally loved this and think it's hysterically funny. I love that subtle sense of sardonic humor. I believe the only reason it didn't place higher is because you mentioned the writing challenge. Since the story has the potential to be in an anthology, they prefer that you don't reference the challenge of FW because some people reading the anthologies won't know about the challenge. One way to have gotten around that would be to have made the MC a college student doing a paper on the subject (or even a younger student). I believe if you had done it in a more generic way, it would have been at the top of the list. I truly love it and it is going into my all-time favorites list. Outstanding. Happy Dance!

I try not to read comments before I post so I didn't see yours. You're right, you didn't specifically mention FW, but the unaffiliated reader might still be scratching her head trying to figure out what contest you are talking about and needing to stop and reread to see if she missed something because she still won't know about the challenge if she just happened upon it. Regardless, I still think it's a hoot and a half!
