But it’s way more than Winter—that sounds SO fake--
--so fake--
Dear Little Sister, there’s something you need to hear:
The Summer Solstice isn’t the longest day of the year
So we get out of school and soon it’s Christmas Eve day,
Then we look at the calendar and the clock and we wait--
--and we wait--
Dear Little Sister, there’s something you need to hear:
Christmas Eve is really the longest day of the year
Mom sends us outside to play but we get bored too fast:
We can’t wait to get those new presents in our grasp!
--in our grasp--
Dear Little Sister, there’s something you need to hear:
Christmas Eve is the longest day of the year
Every year Dad always says, “Keep in Christ in Christmas--
Remember son, it’s not about anything or anyone else--”
--anyone else--
Dear Little Sister, there’s something you need to hear:
Christmas Eve is the longest day of the year
There’s nothing like it when Christmas Eve night falls!
Unfortunately, Little Sister I cannot sleep tonight at all--
--not at all--
Dear Little Sister, there’s something you need to hear:
Christmas Eve is the longest night of the year
Finally the sun breaks the clouds in the eastern sky,
Then we get to jump out of bed and we fly, we fly!
We fly!
Dear Little Sister, there’s something you need to hear:
Christmas Eve was the longest night of the year
Then we run with joy unspeakable with gifts so near,
The countdown is over, Christmas Day is finally here!
Finally here!
We giggle as we tear our presents open with a shout!
We forget about the long wait as we pull the gifts out--
Yesterday and the days before seemed to go so slow;
Waiting for Christmas Day as a child is a heavy chore
But now that it’s here and we’re engrossed in the moment,
Christmas Day goes by like a movie stuck on fast forward
--fast forward—
Dear Little Sister, there’s something you need to hear:
The Winter Solstice isn’t the shortest day of the year
Two words echo through the centuries on Christmas Day--
Two words parents love to hear children excitedly say:
“Let’s play!”
Dear Little Sister, there’s something you need to hear:
Christmas Day is really the shortest day of the year
--let’s play--

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
