God’s hand has certainly been on this country.
Freedom sought, blood bought
It’s a true treasure, blessed beyond measure.
We once were a nation that had striven
To give You, Lord, our thanksgiving,
But we’ve come to a place where we spurn Your grace
And tell you to go without leaving a trace.
I kneel here, my heart breaking
For my country’s foundation is shaking.
With tears running down my face,
I pray “O Lord, don’t leave this place.”
We now feel that too much is not enough
And find ourselves drowning in a sea of glut.
We stretch out our hands to receive more of it
And build bigger barns in order to store it.
Some have closed the door before You could enter,
While others send You out where once You were the center.
There are some of us who cry for You to remain,
But if You don’t, who do we blame?
Did we not turn from our wicked ways?
Did we not, Father, seek Your face?
We humbly pray as we take a stand,
Please answer our prayers and heal this land.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
11 Chron. 7:14 KJV

Take a look at "shinning" in the first stanza--should be "shining".
That's one of my favorite verses; thanks for writing this poem.
