Topic: Art (01/18/07)
I met him the first time I entered the church. Art is a greeter. He is a round man of average height. His hair is brown with gray at the temples and combed neatly every week. His face is mostly clean-shaven. I say mostly because occasionally he has missed a patch of stubble on his chin. He wears glasses that magnify his blue eyes. The combination of his eyes and toothless smile makes even the grumpy people smile as he greets them for worship. Art is a special person.
One particular Sunday, Art was crying as he greeted me.
“Art, are you alright? Is something wrong?” I asked with concern.
“Oh no, my dear, I just remembered somethin’,” Art replied, wiping his nose with the sleeve of his sweater.
“I am not too smart, I know. I am not too good-lookin’ either. But one thing I do know,” he continued with a twinkle swimming in his eyes holding up his stubby pointer finger, “I am His favorite!” I smiled at Art. “And, and, we each are His favorite in our own way, right?” Art said.
“Yes Art, I believe you and I are His favorite!” I replied.

Very sweet story...but desperately needs paragraphing (space), and editing to make it a Super Story. But nice interaction between the two people. Also, The Topic Art was in his name...cute.

“We each are His favorite…” How sweet. I wondered if someone would write a story about a person named Art. My favorite descriptions were of his “patch of stubble” and “his glasses that magnify his blue eyes.”
