I really like the ideas and situations you share in this article.

Here's my favourite line:
And isn't faithfulness the fruit that matures on the tree of gratitude? I believe that only those who can comprehend this truth can enjoy the ' joy of the Lord.'

A bit of red ink: I wonder how different the opening scene would be if you described the scene at the restaurant and include all the senses - showing instead of telling that part.

Blessings

I agree with the above comment. This story has a great deal of potential, however it is all telling and no showing. Put dialog in it. Pull the reader in through emotion. What was the writer's emotion when the coffee spilt? Develop your theme. This waitress deserves the honor you have extended!

I have often said: “No one so blind as a waiter/waitress who is not engaging in what they do.”

My praise to the waitress in your entry.
I deduced from her dedication to serving and encouraging people it is perhaps her calling.

Although I agree with the comments above, the message was clear.

It will be more memorable with description of the waitress, the restaurant and dialogue.

Thank you for this entry. Blessings and Keep Writing.
This is a lovely story and reads smoothly. Thank you for being an observer of such faithfulness.
Please forgive me if ever I ‘borrow’ your phrase of ‘faithfulness the fruit growing from the tree of gratitude’. Love it!
