Topic: WORK OUT (05/20/21)
What does it mean in the Bible when it says to work out your salvation? I think it means we should watch our attitudes and be careful to do our best to imitate the Lord Jesus in all of our dealings with others.
One way to do this is to ask someone out to lunch. It could be after the Sunday church service or on Saturday after choir rehearsal or a cantata practice. Lois, a church member for many years, asks Sally, “How would you like to go with me to the McDonald’s on Canyon Road after service this morning, my treat?”

Sally might say, “Yes, I would like that, but could we do it next week or maybe the following week?” This would give Sally a chance to think over the invitation and perhaps accept it at a later date. Sally would be free to decide for herself whether to accept or not without feeling pressured.

Jesus will not force us into doing things we do not want to do, but sometimes He will put us into situations where we need to make a choice. For instance, Ann works in an office where she is the only person who knows the Lord. As Christmas approaches, will Ann choose to attend the office Christmas Party where there will be drinking, or will she stay at home and have a quiet dinner with a few close friends?

Ann tells her boss she will not attend the Christmas party. She knows Jesus would not be pleased if she did. However, for Sally there would not be anything wrong with a trip to McDonald’s after church with another lady. Everyone has to do what they believe the Lord is telling them to do. It is never easy, and requires the Lord’s help in telling them how to handle various situations.

In the end, we all require the wisdom only God can give.

You have a good message here. It is important to go to God in all things. I wish you'd have given more details in your examples. It could be God wants the person to go to the party to be a designated driver or to witness to someone. God can use us in many ways. Good job.

I liked your idea for the challenge this week. In fact, I toyed with this very idea. I think you did a great job in this writing. Does look like you need a space in between the first and second paragraphs. I thoroughly enjoyed this entry.
