I suppose when one witnesses abuse first hand, and sees the pain and heart ache it causes, they can feel unwanted babies should not be forced to endure such treatment. However, if there is the possibility a child would be mistreated or abused we must still ask ourselves if we have the right to take an innocent life. Also, losing everything in this life, is worth it if it means we will spend eternity with the one true God. Who knows when or where a child will be treated badly, and who knows why a baby has been sent from God to have life on this earth.
“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 16:35 (NKJV)
The pregnant woman in crises may feel she has no hope. When she is told her pregnancy is nothing but tissue, and can easily be removed, she becomes a victim of the worst lie on earth. We have all heard the saying, “Where there is life there is hope.” Well, there is no greater place for this to be applied than at life’s beginning. Many claim it is when the heart begins to beat, but it is easy for me to accept that life begins at conception. When growth begins, life begins.
No one has a guarantee of what is to come, but everyone deserves a chance to experience the good, and the bad stuff of life. Everyone deserves to see a sun rise, the ocean breaking on the shore, fall leaves, snow covered mountains, or a sunset beyond description. Every person is subject to experience extreme suffering, but we must not play god and withhold the possibility of good or bad from another.
Many have come together in the fight for life. They stand firm, even when the subject is labeled too controversial or offensive. More are being added daily, as eyes are opened to the fact that every life deserves a chance and every mother can definitely have hope for hers, the future of her child. There are many options, and a lot of help available to women in crises pregnancies. Hope is one of the biggest and most accurate words used in the pro-life ministry of pregnancy centers all across our nation.
I cannot, or should I say, I will not accept that circumstances are ever so hopeless that the life of another human being must be snuffed out. Life, and abundant life, is why our Lord came to earth and gave His life at the early age of 33. He could have lived many more years, and called many angels to rescue Him from the torment of the cross. He could have selfishly decided giving up his life for that of another was too much.
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 (NKJV)
If I were called upon to sacrifice months of my life to help another person survive, would I make the sacrifice? I believe if people can get a grasp of what life really is, they would think again about this issue of abortion. Jesus came to die for all life, past, present and future, big, small, those we call “normal” and those who are “different.”
“And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Matthew 25:40 (NKJV)
