for a cab
to go to church
one Sunday
we met a kind lady
who pulled up and offered
my wife and me a ride
Another day
as my daughter wheeled my wife
along a busy road
a mother with two lively kids
stopped her car
in front of us
and gave us a lift home
Once a cab driver
saw my wife
on her wheelchair
he then fetched us
to the Sunday worship
for free
but we insisted on paying
I often wonder
at our angels' showing up
--how they often ministered
to our needs
My wife used to invite
visitors, foreigners, students and missionaries
to our home for food and fellowship
Had we entertained
angels unawares?
Surely our guests
had enriched
us with their sagas
passions and visions
which have etched in our memory
Joy threads my recollection
Are these strangers
God-sent?
to do our bidding
A strong correlation
between our past hospitality
and their kind deeds
Whatever the cause
or reason--
we give thanks
and express
deep gratitude
to our Lord
from whom all blessings
flow so bountifully
