TITLE: A Fish Story Gone Belly-Up | Previous Challenge Entry

“Stewart, wake up!” She pushed him out of the bed with her feet as she heard someone pounding repeatedly and knocking loudly at their front door.
Stew was dazed as he fell onto the floor while he heard Jan continuing to yell at him, “Someone is trying to break into the house!”
“What do you want me to do Jan?” he grumbled under his breath.
Jan snapped back at him, “Loose the attitude Ste-wart! March into the kitchen and call 911 right now!”
Stew finally shrugged his lifeless body into the den, stumbling over the coffee table and back onto the floor. He laid there for a minute dazed and confused. Stewart peeled himself off the floor finally calling 911, telling the police to come to 1340 Reynold Drive – saying “Someone was trying to break down our front door only moments ago.” By this time, the kids, Bubba and Lucy were awake. Roy, Stewart and Jan’s youngest child, ran into the protecting arms of his mother in the bedroom while the pounding on the front door continued…
Ten minutes later two police cars showed up. The police men were armed and aiming at the assailant so he would lay down on the ground, and handcuffed him before Stewart slowly and hesitantly got to the front door. In a matter of seconds, they picked the intruder up, dragging him to the squad car as he was still resisting arrest at this point. Then they frisked him and put him in the back seat.
The police motioned for Stewart to come closer to potentially identify the assailant. Stewart could not believe his eyes for it was his friend, Donny Bluegrove from the church!
“What’s going on Stewart? I was supposed to take Bubba fishing this morning apparently he forgot.”
Donny was one of the deacons from our church and Wednesday night he and Bubba had discussed going fishing. Unfortunately for Donny, Bubba had forgotten all about Donny coming to pick him up early that Saturday morning, which wasn’t enjoyable for anybody at the time but sure is hilarious to look back on now.
Author’s note: “Donny went on to be a pastor in the ministry, and His wife was Jan’s second cousin on her mom’s side of the family. This has been the family joke all throughout my growing up years with my mom and me. Donny also has never forgot that night he almost went to jail.” This was loosely based on a true story.

One word of advice, don't give away the story in the title. I figured out where you were going by the title. It would have had a greater impact and kept us guessing if you would have given it a different title.
Great job. I really enjoyed it. it brought back so many memories of my wife telling me to go check on the noise she heard in the middle of the night. God bless and I will watch for more of your writtings.
