CONSIDER

We like to have friends
to a meal or a cup of tea,
exchange news and confidences,
just between you and me.

We pay people to amuse us
on a stage or screen,
but in their real lives they
are not what they seem.

Children with their innocence,
with absolutely no guile,
can amuse us for ages,
laughing all the while.

We can think wrong thoughts
of hatred, envy or pride
they can move to acts.
We must not let them abide.

To hold our attention
with ideas strange and rare,
is what information is for,
an interest to declare.

To maintain a new idea
to keep up with the times,
we need to be able
to have an open mind.

When we consider our lives
what we cherish and hold dear,
are we stuck in our ways?
It would seem to appear.

You had some good ideas here
that could perhaps have been improved with a bit of editing and reading aloud which would help the cadence. Well done on the theme.
