A familiar fall chill fills the air. From the west a brisk breeze whistles. IN the sky a dust is formed. So it has begun. The first winter snow has been born.
As each snow flake is formed crafted uniquely by God’s design, I am reminded that each flake is one of a kind. Hundreds of snowflakes are coming down from the sky. It creates a white canvas as far as one can see.
Standing amidst this wonderful sight I see a clear slate so bright. Each New Year a clear starts a fresh with a clean picture. The old is wiped and washed away. A new creation is waiting to be created. New beauty to see will surely come with the evaporation of winter’s majesty.
So it is with our Creator’s love. We are each made uniquely by His design. When at the moment we feel His gentle breeze, we see coming to us drops of a new canvas falling mysteriously. As we embrace our Savior, we are washed clean. We are given a beginning so pure. And as winter closes to an end to bring beauty to the Earth, so too the Artist will design beauty from the old life made new.
I am blessed to witness such a sight. Each winter God reminds us of His forgiving power. He extends to all of His creation this wonderful invitation:
“Come now, let us reason together,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…” Isaiah 1: 18 (NIV)
