I can sit back and relax for a while.
I'll be glad when the future is certain.
When I have reached the last stretch of a mile.
This trial could be one of dire sickness.
It could be one of confusion or doubt.
The last stretch, an uncertain journey,
No GPS to navigate the route.
In these times, we feel lost and deserted.
No signs naming the road or the street.
There's no clue to how far we must travel.
With just a candle to guide lagging feet.
Lord, we walk on
One foot in front of the other
With some memories planted deep in the soul:
You promised never to leave us
Which means you're traveling with us also;
You promised to protect us
No matter where we go;
You said we don't have to worry
Lilies of the field are never glum,
You've arrayed them in spectacular glory
And we're much more than they can ever become.
No greater love can ever be extended
Than the cross with its shame and its strife.
No greater love has ever been proven
Than the sacrifice of the only Son's life.
When muscle weakens along life's journey,
And no path seems to lead from our trouble,
Soulful memories should quicken our movement
Like a light at the end of a tunnel.

The middle part was good. If you could make the whole thing sound like a prayer, it would have made it more personal.
