I am soft-spoken
Reserved, quiet
Thoughtful

I listen
More than I speak
Give more than I take

I notice little things
Other do not
A passing look,
A small detail

I am kind and
Compassionate
A gentle spirit

But I have a
Problem

The predicament
Is this.

How do I let
Others know
What is on
The inside?

How can you see
Who I am if
I hesitate to speak?

In a world that
Values the bold
And outspoken
Where do I fit in?

I’m made to feel
That I don’t belong
That I need to
change

Yet God has made
Me this way and
All things are for good
Right?

So I will trust in
Him, be myself
And pray that others
Will see.
