“Passport, schmassport! Let me in!”
“Sir, without the passport, you can’t come in.”
“Why not? You let Joe and Sally in. Are they better than me?”
“No sir, they are not, but they each have the passport.”
“Then let me in on their passport. They’ll vouch for me. I live right next door to them.”
“It doesn’t work that way sir. You have to get the passport yourself. Others cannot loan you the passport.”
“You keep saying ‘the’ passport, instead of ‘a’ passport. Is there just one passport?”
“Yes.”
“Then why can’t I use it like Joe and Sally.”
“Because it was given to them, and they accepted it.”
“Well, give it to me and let me in!”
“I can’t give it sir.”
“For crying out loud! Why not!”
“I can only receive it, which I did years ago, but I cannot give it.”
“Listen, I’ll pay for it! Is that what you want? I’ll give you whatever you ask, just let me in!”
“Oh, you can’t pay for it sir. It has already been paid for. It was a tremendously high price, but it only had to be paid once. You can’t pay anything extra for it.”
“Then how do I get it!?”
“You must take it when it’s offered.”
“OK, OK, I’ll take it! It’s obvious I need it, and I’m perfectly willing to accept it. Where can I get it?”
“Sir, do you even know what ‘it’ is?”
“ ‘It’ is a passport, isn’t ‘it?’ “
“It’s ‘THE’ passport, not ‘a’ passport, and there is a problem with you accepting it.”
“WHAT! What now?! How can there be a problem? You say I can’t pay for it, that I only have to accept it. Well, I’m willing to accept it, so give it to me!”
“You have to have faith in order to accept it, and you have to accept it when it is offered.”
“Then HOW do I get some faith, and WHERE do I go to have it offered?”
“You had to exercise your faith before the tornado, sir, when you were back there. And He only offers the passport when you are back there. It’s too late now. It’s not offered here.”
“But I can’t go BACK there!” I’ve been trying ever since the tornado when I found myself here. They won’t let me GO back. I’m scared and confused and I want to go in THERE beyond you. People who go in there aren’t scared or confused. Please let me in.”
“I’m sorry sir, without the passport, you can’t go in.”
“I don’t understand.”
“You will soon enough, sir. I’m sorry that I haven’t explained it very well. I’m just the gatekeeper. Someone else will explain things to you and take you to your destiny.”
“Don’t you mean destination?”
“Your destination is your destiny. I’m truly sorry sir. You will understand very soon. Just wait over there.”

I enjoyed the dialogue and had no problem knowing who was speaking when. Yes, those who did not accept the passport may be very confused, and how horrible that they will understand too late!
