It wasn’t what I had seen
It was what I had heard
Seeing I know where I’ve been
But was dumbfounded by the Word
Speaking like One with authority
This man Jesus was mesmerizing
Hypnotic I say He was to me
And what I saw was surprising
All the people all around me
Astonished with great astonishment
Not speaking as the scribes, you see
Leaving me filled with amazement
I saw Him again and again
Making priests to feel in distress
While forgiving the sins of men
Leaving the Sadducees here speechless
Jesus making the deaf to hear
Also making the dumb to speak
Saying only God should you fear
Giving strength when you are weak
Leaving many dumbfounded here
While to others He was true
Those with ears let them hear
Find joy when you are blue
For the good works Jesus did
The Pharisees wanted Him dead
Stepped on their toes not hid
While stomping that serpent’s head
Casting out the unclean spirit
Healing handicaps and diseases
Jesus sent by Father did it
And one day all sin ceases
Within the Bible the astonishment
Truths told to save one’s soul
Don’t be dumbfounded Jesus was sent
A sacrifice to make one whole
To hear and see the Truth
To know Jesus as a Savior
You don’t need to be a youth
And God changes one’s behavior
You can leave others dumbfounded
And maybe even sow some seed
And you can be truly founded
While giving others water and feed
Confess your sin to Father only
To gain forgiveness and life
You never have to be lonely
Just be the Bridegrooms wife
