One to dissension, and then one to You.
Disagreements are tough when secrets reveal,
The troubles of heart and lusts that appeal.
Now lost in the ocean, God's nation of waves,
If He wills, we'll meet again in this kingdom of knaves.
But then there's the one who's met You face to face,
Sees Your beauty of Love, swims in Your embrace.
We cried and 'fessed sin in each other's ears,
We laughed and we sighed and we loved through the years.
The phone is now silent, the walks are but few,
'Til I'm by God's river, I'll envy your view.
Through time I have learned that my Friend who is best
Has removed all my sin from east unto west.
I walk with You daily, we talk all the time.
When I pick up the phone, You're on the hot-line.
Surpassing a friend and even a brother,
Your love enfolds me unlike any other.
Despite all the losses, lonely in time,
I've unmatched comfort 'cause Jesus is mine.
