We can’t afford to let our love for Christ to grow cold in the last days. Without love for Christ, the Christian walk cannot sustain itself. Without enduring for Christ till the end of our life , there is no eternity for us with Christ. It is not just about standing for Christ today, but till our last breath. We cannot endure for Christ till the end if we lose the love for Him along the way. To the church of Ephesus, though everything else seemed so great, they are called the ‘loveless church’ because they lost their first love for Christ. The Lord asked to remember from where they had fallen. If we lose the love for Christ, that means we have fallen.

Mathew 24:13 NKJV But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Jesus warned us repeatedly about what to expect in the last days. More than He was concerned about the earthquakes and the wars and all the disasters, He warned us about the deceptions by false prophets who would deceive many. Deceptions and heeding to false preachings happen when we fail to know our Savior Jesus Christ and His true gospel. And because wickedness would abound, the love of many will grow cold. We cannot let anything of the devil to impact our love for Jesus. Let our prayers be that God should increase the love for Christ in us everyday.

Mary’s love for Christ made her bring the most expensive thing she owned - a pint of pure nard to His feet and to wipe His feet with her hair. While John the Baptist considered himself unworthy to untie the sandal strap of Jesus’ feet, Mary drew closer to Jesus’ feet with her expression of love and devotion. Jesus never turns away anyone who comes to Him with love. Judas’s love for money surfaces up and spills over to the point of betraying Jesus. What we are filled with, overflows and spills over. When Judas lost his love for Christ and yielded to the love for money, Satan took over instantly and ultimately caused him to destroy himself.

1 Timothy 6:10 NKJV For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Though the testing moment of fear caused Peter to deny Jesus, the still so compassionate look of Jesus caused him to cry bitterly. Jesus, in His compassionate grace, restored Peter and handed him the duty of a shepherd to tend His sheep.

The transformation of Paul resulted in considering all his educational qualifications as filthy rag and considered to die for Christ as gain.

At the end of it all, it is all about our love for Christ. This Christ who loved us enough to lay down His life on the cross in the most humilating way and thus restored us from the condemnation of hell, He is worth our everything! He is worth our every breath! May our living and dying be for His glory! May the Lord increase our love for Christ everyday of our lives! Amen!

Amen! Your article ministered to me. Such a huge sermon in so few words...UN-ending growth of our love for Christ. And its a good twist on the topic of 'END". I'll remember reading this to the end. Thank you.
