Our trees were not supposed to be weighted down with snow before releasing their leaves. They were not made to carry more weight. Neither are we.
Think of your life. Have you ever been guilty of carrying more than you should? It usually happens to me because I have trouble saying No. I refuse to release one activity before taking on something else.
If you recall in the Bible that Eve refused to release forbidden fruit. Esau refused to release his urgent need for stew.
We all have free will. We all have the freedom to make choices. Choices and consequences are package deals. To me, refusing to release some of our busy activities means refusing to have peace. Not a desirable consequence.
Why burden ourselves with undesirable consequences? Let’s begin 2022 by looking at the activities on our calendar. Let’s delete all the activities that are just busywork. Let’s devote ourselves to the activities that are dear to our hearts. So in this way, we dust off all the unwanted snow from our branches and stay strong to do what means the most to us.

Very well done.
Just this morning I was noticing that I didn't have to carry things 'all' at once - I was cleaning a stall at the time and my younger self would have loaded it to the top - but I gave myself grace to fill it up just so that I could easily carry it - your amazing devotional is spot on for me today

Also, you could have developed the theme even more as it is quite an important message.
Thanks for the reminder!
