Topic: EXPRESSION (11/12/20)
The expression on a person’s face tells a lot. Sometimes, however, a person can hide their feelings by maintaining a stone-faced expression. There were lots of times when I tried my best to do this, especially when, as a teen, I wished to avoid embarrassment.
When I reached maturity I let my feelings show much more readily. This was mostly because I wanted to convey my Christian love and care toward others. I did not become a Christian until I was sixteen, so I was not ready to show compassion until I was out of my teens.
There was one young lady in the office where I worked who was quite different. She behaved as if there were no God and no life in the hereafter. One day she and I found ourselves alone in the lunchroom. I think she was surprised that no one else was there. But she began to talk almost as soon as I sat down. She told me her life story in a nutshell.
She grew up with two younger sisters and a mother and father. She did not think anything of living with her boyfriend. The previous day the boyfriend had asked her to leave. She told me she felt badly and I tried to console her. I told her about how the Lord Jesus would forgive her and come into her life if she would only ask Him.
She had never heard that before, and at first she did not know how to respond. It was as if she were in shock. She just couldn’t believe anyone would die for her. I told her she should let all her emotions out and cry if she wanted to. A few tears began to trickle down my cheeks. I remembered how it was when I received Christ. She could see how emotionally involved I was. She began to cry a little, then the dam broke and she cried buckets.
After she calmed herself, she said I was the only person who showed her empathy or concern. She knew I connected with her and understood how she felt. I learned many things from this experience. It helped me to learn how to show more expression and feelings to others, especially when they were reaching out.
I don’t know if this lady ever received Christ as her Savior. Soon after this particular day, she changed jobs and I never saw her again.

A tpuching story.
It would be a lot more dramatic if you introduced dialogue. For example, when you were alone, you could say:"You look upset. Is there anything you want to tell me?"
She looked down at her nails and said, "My boyfriend has kicked me out."
Something like that. It makes it more immediate.

This is a delightful testimony. It will inspire many to spread the news to others. This is a great first entry. I look back at my early entries and am amazed how much I've grown as a writer. Since you asked for feedback on the message boards, I'd like to share some ways to make it better. Try tightening it up some and add body language, dialog, and even thoughts of the MC. For example, if I were editing it, I might suggest this little bit be tweaked like this (I often find a quick example is easier to understand. Of course, your words might be quite different.):
One day at work, a lady and I sat alone in the lunchroom. Her voice quavered as she spoke. "My boyfriend just dumped me."
I prayed silently for wisdom. "Dear Jesus, help me find the right words." I placed my hand over hers and said, "Jesus will help you."
She rolled her eyes and sighed. "I don't believe in God. When you die, that's it. Bam! You're gone!"

Don't get me wrong. I think you did an outstanding job. I see so much potential in this. You've an excellent foundation and I can feel your passion in your words. I'm so excited to see more of your work. Keep writing. You're doing great!
