Could-be’s, no heart,
Without a beginning;
Without a start.
What visions have you?
What dreams set apart?
They are nothing; just dust
If you have not a start.
Where will you live?
In the light or the dark?
Two places give light,
Try hits the mark.
But even if you miss,
Don’t be eaten by the Shark.
Idleness deceives
Better than a Lark.
To you a granted treasure,
Will it be but buried?
Unshared, un-multiplied,
Action not married,
Passion remaining single?
Ticks of time are harried
Expect success without a sweat?
You cannot be carried.
But what are you to do,
When soil is in drought?
What once was life and bloom,
Now droops over in a pout.
Purpose dies in your grasp.
Should you throw it out?
Trapped, ensnared, nowhere to go
Hands bound with doubt.
Two voices there will be,
One is hard to hear,
The other, slinking through your mind
Filling you with fear.
Oh, listen! On the wind
The One is quite near.
Listen, for the Voice
Makes your calling clear.
For yourself, leaves you empty.
For others, makes a sound.
For the Giver and the Glory
There your passions may be found.
Who is made known?
Where do you place the crown?
For dying breeds or rusty steeds
Or everlasting renown?
Come back to where you were.
Horse pulls the cart
Not without a snap, not
Without a start.
Where will it take you?
Worship is your art.
Don’t mind where you end up,
Just begin. Just start.
