Hope is a word that adds zest to life’s game.
And may describe a wish for an earthly desire,
Such as beauty, health, wealth or fame.
But when these hopes are dashed we cannot escape
being broken hearted and filled with unhappiness.
But when we achieve temporal hopes are we really happy?
Do we ask ourselves is that all there is?
Do fruits of victory turn into ashes leaving nothing?
However, there is a hope that gives eternal joy.
It is free to all and yet passes all understanding.
If we really hope to have peace of mind to enjoy
Just believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God!
He will love us and protect us from all strife.
And when on earth we no longer plod
He carries us to heaven to savor eternal life!
