in spite of advertising spiel
to make us buy their product,
we know it is not real.
Insincere smiles so trite
they cannot be right,
feigned are their emotions
though they look so bright.
Clothing made from coal
and such are not genuine.
For they do not feel right
like wool and cotton.
Bling is not diamonds
or rubies or pearls,
it just looks like it,
to fool the world.
Fictional are our storybooks
full of love and hate,
if we want the real thing,
accept what's on our plate.
We held pretend Olympics
with torch of cellophane red,
passed it around the room,
aussie, aussie, aussie we said.
Our faith may seem the real thing
as we work to save our soul,
but faith and trust in Jesus
is needed to make us whole.
To grow our lives like Jesus
he's the one to emulate,
as we do his work on earth,
till we reach Heaven's gate.
