And though you were far away
The words it contained did touch me deep
As the loneliness they did chase away
I can remember when you left me
Because you needed the space and time
For you had a lot to think about
Before you could let your love be mine
And I did count every passing moment
As each second did slowly slip away
While every day my expectations did rise
When each night on my knees I prayed
I wanted to honor all your wishes
Though it was so very hard to do
Especially when all that I do think of
Are the sweet memories I have of you
I longed to hear your soft tender voice
Wishing that I could hold your hands
For I missed you so very much each day
More than any mortal man surely can
I tried to be strong and embrace each memory
As the treasures that they surely became
While finding in my lonely moments each night
I did hear my lips softly humming your name
And as time did pass my faith begin to fade
As loneliness surely embraced my life
And I began to think that I had truly lost
The only love that did make my life so right
But today my heart was taken by surprise
Especially tasting the words your email contained
That you had missed me so very much
And without me in your life it was not the same
And to me emails never seemed that important
To ever give much of my time each day
But your email changed my whole attitude
With the words that your heart did display
And my mind has reach even greater highs
As my heart sits this day and writes
A email to you on my laptop
As I await your love’s touch back into my life.
