V is for Valuable. To God, our relationship to him is valuable, just as the relationship between Jacob and Rachel. Jacob worked for Laban seven years in order to marry Rachel, and it seemed to him seven days because the love for her was so great.
A is for Admirable. God takes note of when we act admirably or foolishly. For example, Abigail was of good understanding, while her husband Nabal was foolish. Abigail gave supplies to the king God had appointed. After her husband died, Abigail became a wife of David.
L is for Lovely. The marriage relationship is a picture of God’s love for people. In the Song of Solomon, Solomon called the Shulamite woman beautiful in many ways and in turn she called her husband altogether lovely.
E is for Enduring. The Persian King chose Daniel as a young man “in whom was no blemish, but well favored and skillful in all wisdom.”(Daniel 1:4 KJV) He was prayed to the Lord even with the threat of being thrown into the lions' den. He was also chosen by God to be a prophet. Daniel love and faithfulness to the Lord was enduring. N is for Natural. Esther was purified with balms and sweet odors and required nothing extra from the king’s chamberlain. She was accepted as she was, and “obtained favor in the sight of all of them that looked upon her.” (Esther 2:15 KJV)
T is for Teachable. Jesus, taught through parable and many did not understand—at times even his chosen disciples. Also, as the bridegroom of the church, Jesus wishes each one of his believers to “Study to show thyself to be approved unto God…rightly dividing the Word of Truth”(II Timothy 2:15 KJV).
I is for Informed. God keeps those he loves informed of his promises, love, and holiness. He informed Mary and Joseph of the special plan he had for each of them before Jesus was born.
N is for Noteworthy. Mordecai told Esther, who in turn told the king, that there was a plot against King Ahasuerus. Mordecai’s deed was written down but forgotten, until on a night when the king could not sleep. The king had his records read and realized that Mordecai had not been honored. Then Mordecai was honored at God’s timing.
E is for Everlasting. God loves all the people of the world as stated in John 3:16 (KJV): “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This love is life-giving and eternal because God is eternal. It is through a saving belief and trust in Christ that any person may become God’s “Valentine.”
