vows were recited, a marriage begins
The day is filled with happiness and love
and blessings were received from the Heavens above
Man and woman became husband and wife
and start a long journey on this thing called life
Each day started with hugs and kisses
along with hopes, dreams and wishes
Walking hand in hand, each other we hold
telling ourselves that our love won’t grow old
Flowers were sent and Valentines too
romance was abundant, and life’s troubles were few
Those first years of marriage, the love never strayed
and soon plans for a family began to be made
Mother and father replaced husband and wife
and devotion was shifted to a tender young life
The time for each other began to perish
and was reserved for the young ones we cherish
Children grow up, bringing wonder and thrills
they also became a great test of wills
No longer filled with that same enchantment
we began to take one another for granted
Valentines and flowers were no longer sent
and time together was no longer spent
Walking hand in hand became a thing of the past
as life began to move so swift and so fast
Yet to each other we stayed strong and true
and love each other like it’s still brand new
For that love was still there, we just needed to know
that there are different ways for it to grow
Don’t ever forget about love and caring
about the ones who’s lives we are sharing
Together always, through thick and through thin
life’s journey isn’t over, it has yet to begin
