Now, each person is assigned a guardian angel at birth, and each guardian angel watches over that very person until he or she dies. Some angels are more strict than others, and some are more humorous. Each angel has his or her own personality, and Eli was definitely one of a kind. Not only did he appear before the Seraphim, running towards God and saying, "Pick me! Pick me! I want to guard Kathleen!" and trip over his white robes, but he also did the craziest thing possible to make her "fall in love" with the man she was meant to be with.

Now, Kathleen had a normal life. She never had much luck in dating, but she spent most of her life close to God. Of course, most human beings can't see angels, but they can sure see us! So, of course, Kathleen didn't see what was coming for her that day she met Angelo.

God knew what was going to happen. Angelo and Kathleen were acquaintances in high school, and he was going to start a game of tag with her to flirt with her. At that point, she would chase him and climb over a railing in order to get to him. So, God told Eli, “When she reaches the top of the railing, push her.”

Eli was a bit confused as to why in the world God would want him to push her off the railing, but he knew how the Lord worked in such weird and mysterious ways. So he thought, perhaps God wants her to fall into his arms. Now, that was romantic!

But alas, when Eli went to push her at this time, she fell frontward and didn’t exactly fall into Angelo’s arms. Instead, she hit the concrete; and when she came up, there was blood coming from her chin where the cement had burst it open.

“Oh, no! I’ve ruined it! How embarrassing for poor Kathleen!” Eli cried, but Angelo helped her up and took her to the nurse’s office. There, they told her she would need stitches, and Angelo slipped to her his phone number so that she could “call him, and he could make sure she was okay.”

And they have been together ever since, thanks to Eli the angel!
