Topic: Craft (as in handcraft) (02/08/07)
Imagine what Noah’s ark would have looked like when God told him to build one, but did not give him any directions, any dimensions or supplies. If the only thing that Noah would have to go by would be that this watercraft should be big enough to hold his family, animals and enough food to last about forty days, I would picture a boat about the size of a big yacht, but as protected as a pontoon boat.

Then the turmoil that would come after Noah finds out that he is to take his whole family, pairs of all the animals, enough food for all for forty days and enough shelter to protect them from the flooding rain.

That seems to me to be the way our lives are sometimes when we do not grow up in a home where God is not the center or even part of it. When you grow up in a home where everyone is not to obey their father but has to worship their mother. Then you are sent out into a world on your own with no direction, guidance or love. It turns out to be a life of turmoil, trying to figure out what you are going to do now.

For some of us, we could spend forty years looking for that guidance to find out how to live a Godly life full of safety and shelter from the storms of our life. Thankfully for me I’ve found a mentor who has guided me to Gods word, a God who tells me daily how my craft should be.

You're so right. We need God's direction in everything, but sometimes forget to seek it. You used a good example with Noah's ark, if he had not the directions of God to follow. Your analogy with life just sums up the predicament we would be in without God.
