The cross is where I met my Lord and Savior and my forever friend
Across my life lay the most beautiful thing --the cross --that makes my heart to sing
The top is at the end and the bottom is the beginning of my journey in Him
The cross beam is layed at the heart of all that I am and all that I was.
Without Him I can do nothing -- and without the cross I would have nothing
Into the cross I layed myself bare, to find and receive all treasured things
Threw myself in unawares of the blessings and gifts that were in the offing
And all the mysteries, miracles and answer to prayer that only God can bring.
The cross is where I met the God of all the earth, the Holy and Majestied One
All host of heaven recorded the time and place of that holy union
Where I gave all that I have and all that I am to receive the Best and Most of all
Up above the clouds went I into the glorious throne room of our Lord.
Rising above all earthly things into the cross I found life--
How can this most cruel thing be the thing that delivered me from hell?
What other might what other foe could bring me down from this wonderful sight
I will behold forever and a day in the inner mind the things that he has held
For me in keeping until that day when I would be faced with the most incredible joy
The Cross -- His Cross -- the most Holy Cross -- where he bore it all on that amazing hill.
