Her purpose driven life became more evident with her father’s encouragment.He had not been able to complete high school because his own father died when he was a young man and he was forced to quit school to support the family. Hoping that his daughter would be able to fulfill her own dreams he paid private school tuition along with music lessons, ballet lessons and horseback riding lessons. This led his daughter to possess a strong desire to make her father proud and feel that his hard hours working paid off.
In doing so, she was fulfilling the purpose God had for her life.
The debt could never be paid because the gift was priceless.
Wanting the best for his daughter’s life was a reflection of the love of Jesus Christ.
Clarence, whose name’s meaning originates in Ireland after the Clare River
wanted to provide the best life for his wife and daughter. He gave them
material things but also shared his love and faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus is described as a “River of Life”. Dee’s dad was a good example of that life giving love freely without holding back any good thing.
Tonight was graduation night and both Dee and Clarence were nervous.The drive over to the school gym evoked memories of long study halls,
fun days filled with lectures, and memories of platform shoes.
Times were changing for Dee but this was just a beginning of finding God’s purpose for her life. Tonight she would stand behind a podium holding her diploma and mouth the
words, “Thank you Father”, and those words would have a double meaning.

To make this really come alive, you'll want to work on less straight explaining and more 'showing,' or painting a picture for the reader.
One way to do this would be to create your opening scene at graduation, then develop the progression of the ceremony, and the thoughts she has about her father's part in her success.
Your ending was strong, and will feel even stronger to readers after you've built up to it, right from the first paragraph!
