I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel;
My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
I have set the LORD always before me;
Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope.
In Your presence is fullness of joy.
It was as if God had seen into his heart of hearts; touching the loss, the sorrow, the grief. In His presence he would find joy. In His presence would be comfort, hope, gladness. Peace flooded through his mind; his tired limbs relaxing under the tender hand of his God.
Those who sow in tears
Shall reap in joy.
He who continually goes forth weeping,
Bearing seed for sowing,
Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,
Bringing his sheaves with him.
He was ready for a new harvest. Was that a freshness in the air? Rain perhaps? What blessing! The sky was becoming lighter and the man heard the animals stirring in their pens. Soon it would be time to milk and water the flocks. He was about to walk down the stairs when something caught his eye. It was a man walking way up the road. Who could be out this early? Someone lost, perhaps, from a caravan? He went down to see if he could help. He started walking towards the figure and then he suddenly stopped. Wonder filled his mind. No, it couldn't be...could it? He started walking again, faster and faster until he was running; flying down the road. He grabbed the man. Laughing and crying he praised the Lord. This was his son who he thought was lost. This was his son who he thought had died.
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.
