If you were to stand back and look over my parents fifty years of marriage you would
probably not deem it enriched by prosperity. There were no castle's, Mercedes Benz',
swimming pools, large incomes, or bank accounts filled with plenty.
Instead you would see a fifty year marriage filled with unconditional love. You would
see a love that lasted through the good times and the hard times. You would see five
children that never watched a fighting match or heard the heart wrenching word divorce.
You would see little boys that learned their respect for women and their God given role from a
Daddy that taught them the importance of cherishing the gift of a loving wife. You would
see daughters that learned the importance of morality and decency by example. As the years
pass you would note the children all became respected men and women that married and
passed on to their families the security unconditional love brings. You'd see the trauma's
as well as the victories. You'd note how often God had to be called upon to make a way where
there was no way. You would watch faith be challenged and survive. The nine grandchildren
would produce no less in standards and love even though their peer pressures were worse than
in the good old days.
Time has passed and now you would have to view the strength of mamma waiting to join her
sweetheart in the heaven above. You'd hear her sing songs of worship and thankfulness to a
Savior for keeping her family safe and out of troubles that would destroy their lives. Her smile
and kisses that showers the pictures of her four great-grandbabies would make you feel warm and
happy.
At 83 years old she owns very few tangible things. But, she rich is beyond words. As her
family we know we are blessed with a prosperity that can't be bought..
