Gentlemen, start your engines!
When the race begins at the drop of a flag
You have to be ready or behind you’ll lag
Gentlemen, start your engines!
When you are on top, the people surround you
But the crowds disappear when you lose a few

Begin over again, take another ride
It is easy to quit once the praise subsides
Gentlemen, start your engines!
Even if there’s nobody who knows your name
If you give all you’ve got, you win just the same.
