unfettered, no worries
I longed to be carefree:
a nonchalant person to be
I had tried in the past
It was to no avail
and soon did I realise--
It's an illusive dream
Challenges and struggles
harsh realities of life
I live with them all the while
to flee, to freeze, or to face
Be I a child or parent
working or unemployed
a student, or family
seeking to nurture the young
I too have my fair share
of living in this world
sowing in tears or joys
in God's rich gracious soil
This is my Father's world
I must play my part
to complete the task
from Him I draw my strength
Perceived it as joys
not burdens or toils
It's my privilege
of higher calling
It's all for my own good
to realise my stake in life
A crystal clear goal
for the road of my soul
I have a distinct destiny
not a machine fit for factory
or a weed that will wither
into insignificance
My life lived in this world
is preparatory
for the eternity
the realm of peace and joy
Master of my fate
Captain of my life
Make this life my heaven
Gladly will I sojourn

Enjoyed this piece very much.

Your poem had much wisdom woven within it. Humans will encounter stress, but we need to continually drop it at Jesus' feet.
