My Orchard

In my orchard are only three trees. That’s all I really need in this life. There is a family tree, a friendship tree and a church tree. Each has it’s place in my life.

The family tree includes people past and present. Mostly it’s the people in the present that are most helpful to me. They would include grandparents, parents, siblings and children..There are also aunts, uncles, cousins and all the in-laws too.They are all there to love, cherish, comfort and shelter you from life’s storms. Family is where most people go with joys, hurts and anything else life sends their way. They will stand by you, advise you, and do anything possible to help you. They will love and comfort you at every turn.

Past generations can also be helpful to you. Remembering someone and what they said or did for you. Or maybe someone told you about someone you never met. Something they went through and how they handled it, could give you the courage to go on. The family tree is a great sheltering tree, wrapping you in it’s arms and protecting you.

There is another tree that can shelter you and that is the friendship tree. In our lives we will have many friends. Some will be close, but most will be passing. The close and intimate friends will be the ones that will help you the most, but don’t count out the ones you don’t know well. They have their place too. All of these can be a help to you, each in their own special way. You will find each one helps you on your journey.

The church family is another extension that can love, comfort and support you in many ways. They too, are there to cry with you, laugh with you and pray with you about anything that might be a problem to you.

Even though you may not know many of them very well, it doesn’t matter. Prayer can be made for people you don’t know well. In fact, the more you pray for someone the closer you feel to them.

All three trees need to be cared for with much tender loving care. Do not neglect any of them in your daily life. All are useful to you and were given by God. He sends them to help us and sometimes we are to love and help them too.

Since this is about "my" orchard, you should consider writing the whole thing in 1st person. In other words, change "you" to "me" or "I". It will make your essay more personal.

I really like your concept here, of the small but vital orchard.
