Topic: FOLD (10/08/15)
John 10. 14-16. I am the good shepherd and I know my sheep and I am known by my own.
Jesus is making a very strong and true statement here. That he is the good shepherd and we are known by him.

Now here comes a problem for many Christians, that they know of him but do not really know him.

Verse 15. As the Father knows me even so I know the Father and I lay down my life for the sheep.

Verse 16. And other sheep I have that are not of this fold. Them also must I bring.

Jesus is plainly saying that he knows the Father and in verse 16. He says that he has other sheep that are not of this fold. The emphasis and being known by us and ourselves knowing him. Is a very valid point for the church today. There is a song Holy Spirit come and fill this place. What place? When it is applied to a church building, i cringe.

Then my heart cries out no! It is our heart that he is filling and the Holy Spirit lives inside of us. So why ask him to come if he is already there!. Church can be classed as a fold and we are in it. We can only truly answer the good shepherd if we know that voice.

But I believe that this Shepherd of ours, is with his Holy Spirit. Training this end time church to listen and be still for a while. We shall then hear that voice, not only us but other sheep that are not yet of this fold.

Oh glory to God for wonderful times we live in and the opportunities that we shall have. Because Jesus is building his church Hallelujah! Praise God.

The meaning of "fold" you are conveying is clear. You are also sharing another truth about the Holy Spirit that already dwells in us.

You definitely leave your reader to think about the truths you shared.

You have stated it very well. I don't like the singing of that song either.

I take the other sheep to be those that were not Jews. There are many nations of those that Jesus wants to be the shepherd of.
