A storm outside is raging.
I think of a time when all was well.
I begin to count my blessings.
My mind takes a trip down a winding lane.
A view I’ve never seen before
Where preceding the joy and glee of that day,
Sorrow, loss, and another storm.
"Were it not for that storm," I began to think
"That moment I cherish would never have been."
Were it not for the rain and my broken heart,
The Blossom of hope I would never have seen.
Then I looked again at the raging waves,
The powerful wind attempting to ruin me.
I began to embrace the tempestuous tumult.
Inside I knew that God was with me.
I thanked Him for the storm outside.
My fear and dread He overcame.
I saw the storm in a golden light,
It came to heal, not cause me pain.
For now my faith was more secure,
My hope in Him I found.
And now when counting blessings,
I count the storms as well.
