Topic: Day's End (01/01/14)
When you come to the close of your day,
What is it you have to say?
Are you glad God helped with your task,
Or just grateful its over at last?

Were you listening for God’s voice?
Then did you make the right choice?
Worked, something off your list to take
Or with joy your journey did take?

And just how was your attitude?
Hope it was one of gratitude
If making money was your goal,
Did you forget to feed your soul?

The way that others think and feel,
Did you consider in your zeal?
To be like Jesus did you strive,
And just be glad to be alive?

Accomplishment made you hurry,
Did you pray instead of worry?
Illness to God did you commit?
Took some time with a friend to sit?

Did you insist on your own way,
Or let others have a say?
Offer a sacrifice of praise
Continually throughout your days?

Devotional style poem. Could also be for encouragement and instruction.

It flowed nicely and I could notice your work in finding rhyming words.

I really liked this! A devotional poem, how unique. Nicely done with well thought out sentiments that everyone could appreciate.

You've given us many things to reflect on in this thought-provoking poem.

It might be improved somewhat with a tightening of the meter, so that it's more consistent from line to line and from stanza to stanza. And maybe one more stanza of encouragement to your readers, with a solution for them if their answer to most of your questions is "no."

You did a fine job of writing to the topic prompt, giving us an apt reflection for our day's end.

Thank you for this reminder of what is truly important. A couple of the rhymes sounded just a little bit forced, and I have difficulty with that myself. Hope to see more of your work. Keep writing!

I always enjoy poems that tell stories or have a pertinent message. I very seldom take time at the end of the day to reflect on the day I've lived. Your poem showed me how important these questions are to ask. Good job.

The best teachers are the ones who know how to ask the right questions. Kudos for getting your readers to think as they read your poem, and ask those questions of themselves.
