It is with great peace and joy that I sit at the beach and watch the sun go down, with colors running across the heavens and mingling one with another as they paint the once white clouds which have stood still just as if they were waiting for the Lord to reach out and touch them.
Sitting on the rocks of a jetty watching the swells of the tide waters coming into shore brings a calming balm into my soul. They rise and fall as if great fish are swimming back and forth across the small inlet causing the water to rise with each passing of their huge bodies. It is this calm penetrating deep into my soul that brings a great peace that can not be explained to others.
As fishermen throw out their lines in hopes of catching dinner for the evening meal I sit and dream of days gone by, and of days yet to come. The sun slowly sinking further into the far reaches of the ocean sends its last beautiful gleaming rays of light across the darkened waters. Like a shining silver beam it seems like a message is lain out for me to understand something more that I have never had before. Almost like a walkway to heaven, I watch as the last twinkling sparkles spray beautifully across the night waters of the ocean. I soon have to rise and leave this place of peace, but not alone for the God who called me to listen to his voice has spoken once more to my heart.
Forgiven and joyfully beautiful in the eyes of my Lord, he walks with me as I make my way to the car. I will go on day to day and month to month with that peace in my heart, knowing no matter what lies ahead it is well with my soul. With God in control of life, how can I worry about anything again?
The days gone are gone and can not be brought back or changed. The days ahead are for me to use to the best of my ability to walk with God in all he has for me.
As with the swelling of the tides, my life has risen and fallen but once more the beautiful signs of nature have given me the peace of soul that God is with me and has promised to never leave nor forsake me.
