Someone waits and watches, pacing back and forth. Our enemy is searching for an opening, waiting constantly and without fail. There will be a moment, we are human after all.
Morning comes and we begin our day. Do we pray first and place the day and our families in God’s hands? Or do we have a few other things to take care of first? Does it matter if we get to prayer a little bit later? Today prayer does not come first.
Our enemy steps closer. He has an opening.
It’s another crazy morning with so much to do just to get everyone out the door. Someone says something. Did they mean to hurt us like that?
Now our enemy jumps into action. Yes, they meant to hurt you! How dare they! Don’t they know how much you do for them? Maybe you should say something you know will hurt them.
We speak words that injure. Now our loved one has been wounded and will take those wounds into the day with them.
Our enemy smiles. He has accomplished so much with so little.
Shame. We did the wrong thing. Now what? Do we drop to our knees and ask God to forgive us? Or is shame keeping us from turning to Him?
Our enemy whispers that we should be ashamed. That we are not worthy of forgiveness.
Now we are unable to pray. How can we? We are not worthy.
Our enemy is pleased.
God is waiting and watching without fail. He is saddened. He sees us. He loves us. He waits for us to just ask in faith. He will protect us and fill us with His peace for the day if we will ask in faith. He will help us to forgive others that hurt us if we will ask in faith. He will forgive us for our sins if we will just ask in faith.
A new day begins. Our first action is to drop to our knees and pray. We pray for the day ahead. We pray for forgiveness for what we’ve done wrong. We thank God for all He has done for us. We pray for our families and loved ones. We pray for peace and we pray for the world around us.
Our enemy is rattled. He has no opening.
