Crackle… Hiss… Sizzle… went the bacon as Haley anxiously stood on the step stool watching Nana cook breakfast. “Watch out, don’t let the grease jump up and burn you” warned Nana. “Nana, can I crack the eggs, I know how, you have already shown me how to do it” said Haley. “Are the pancakes ready to be flipped?” I asked as I sat back to observe this wonderful display of love. This is it, this is how God designed things to be according to Titus 2:4; the older women teaching and training the younger girls to be the best they can be. Recalling back to when I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Haley I told my Mom that we carry our children nine months in the womb and two years on our hips and Mom’s quick reply was “And forever in our hearts!” It was at this moment that God showed me how to plant seeds as a Mother of Love.
Hands that Prepare ~ Nine Months in the Womb
“We’re gonna have a baby”, I shouted in the phone without even saying hello. Overjoyed with excitement I didn’t even give my husband a chance to let what I was saying register as I shouted those words again. Having a little human being develop inside of you for nine long months gives you ample amount of time to worry over many significant or insignificant things. Things like; how will I decorate the nursery? What kind of clothes will I need for myself and for my baby? How many diapers, lotions, powders, and other supplies will I really need when my baby arrives? As you are getting these things ready, you are preparing the way for the life of your child. But as Christians we need to realize that there are more than just these things to prepare the way for our children.
As parents we are told to train a child in the way that they should go so that when they are old they will not depart from it. We need to get ourselves ready and prepare the way for Jesus to our children. Our lives need to be models of holiness and righteousness to our children. We need to show them the true lives that Jesus has for them.

“BANG” the sound went off as a gunshot. I looked just in time to grab Haley as her toddler body fell off of the couch towards the floor. I was able to rescue her in time before she hit the ground but unfortunately not in time to escape injury. As panic rushed into our hearts and chaos stirred around us I held her close and watched her eye swell three times it’s normal size from her hit on the coffee table. To this day, Haley still carries the scar of a dimple near her right eye as a reminder of her first traumatic accident. Even though I was right next to Haley on the couch, I wasn’t paying attention and she got hurt.
The time that we have with our children is the most important and most valuable time of their lives. It is important for us to protect them from the dangerous environment. If we don’t; Satan, as a roaring lion is out and about seeking whom he can devour. As our children grow up it is our responsibility to protect them from the things of this world. A Mother of Love provides the love of God to her children.
Hands that Pray ~ A Lifetime in your Heart
A Mother of Love is a very special lady with a great purpose in the kingdom of God. God has entrusted in her the ability to raise “princes and princesses” for His kingdom. According to Philippians 4:6-7 we cannot worry about what will happen to our children, if we have dedicated them back to God and we have made the request for Him to take care of them then we must trust Him to do His job. So, if we have properly prepared, protected and provided for our children the only thing left we can do for them is pray. We have a job that pays more and offers more benefits than working for any man. A Mother of Love is a very respectable position and we will always have a job.
