Topic: Risk (05/17/12)
There are many risks to face today.
Many obstacles stand in the way.
Should I further my education,
Move to another location?
What should I choose for my vocation?
Should I enlist to serve my nation?
The one I love, should I marry?
Is retirement necessary?
Is a family worth the risk?
On too much will they insist?

It seems with every choice I make
There are risks I must take.
I weight the pros and cons and then,
I may need to do it again.
Is there an answer for my plight?
God's instruction is always right.

In the Bible risk takers are found.
The lessons learned are profound.
When God asked Abraham to go,
Just where it was he did not know.
To fill His promise for a son,
Seemed a longtime for everyone.
The birth of Isaac brought great joy.
Then God asked him to kill his boy.
Just as Abraham would obey,
An angel came his hand to stay.

To Joshua, God's orders came,
Six times march around just the same.
The seventh day the wall will fall
When the people give a loud call.
A sensible plan does this seem?
God's way is always supreme.

Daniel would not eat the king's meat,
Nor fail to worship at God's feet.
He obeyed gGod instead of men.
God saved him from the lion's den.

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego,
In the fiery furnace did go.
No worship to an image show,
Though consequences they did know.

Take God's instructions to Noah,
His neighbors gave him the ha-ha.
And yet Noah chose to obey
Everything the Lord had to say.

Early Christians great risks did take
So that their witness they could make.
Why were they willing risks to take?
Their faith was such no one could shake.

If I hear what God has to say,
Listen closely and obey,
This is the answer for me too.
My faith in God will see me through.

This is a cute poem that encompasses many of the heroes of the Bible. You did a nice job with the rhyming and the flow.

The only thing I might suggest is some commas to help the reader understand some of the lines easier. Esp. this line An angel came his hand to stay. could use a comma after came.

That's just a tiny little detail though and did not detract from your message. You did a nice job on this.
